Signs

While an undergraduate student at California College of Arts and Crafts, with a focus on painting and drawing. I became intrigued with the language of signs which stemmed from my understanding of signage design. I was interested in de-constructing the language of signs, de-constructing authority and upsetting hierarchy. I used the de-constructed bits and recombined them, oftentimes on a grid, like a quilt. They are a form of patchwork quilt, assembled in a collage-like process that recombines individual bits of information into abstract art which encourages the viewer to find new meaning and a new unbridled directive in navigating the world.
