The Harry Mathews project is a conceptual art series I created when I moved to an art studio in San Diego. The landlord had just put it on the market, and didn't clean it out yet. In the process of cleaning out the studio, I discovered the perfectly undisturbed workshop of a post world war II tinkerer, who was also an oil painter. Through my research I uncovered a connection to Harry Mathews the person who lived there and died 15 years prior to my arrival. This project celebrates an unknown person, the human condition and the conversations we shared.
